Marlyse Martinez
Violin Lessons


Marlyse Martinez is a sought after performer and teacher of southern California. She received her Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from the internationally distinguished Eastman School of Music, in which she studied with the renowned violinist, Mikhail Kopelman. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Violin Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University Long Beach under the tutelage of Andrea Byers, a Julliard alumnus and student of Ivan Galamian, as well as Dorothy DeLay.

Ms. Martinez is an active orchestral musician, currently performing with the San Diego Symphony, as a substitute member, and has previously performed with the American Youth Symphony, where she served as Assistant Principal, as well as Tokyo New City Orchestra,YMF Debut Orchestra, Center Stage Opera, Southeast Symphony, Long Beach Ballet and Corona Symphony. Marlyse has also recorded, and performed with legendary artist, Burt Bacharach, whom she toured with on his Japan tour of 2014. She has appeared with Il Volo, and television performances which include American Idol and the BET Awards. Ms. Martinez has participated in the prestigious Aspen Music Festival, and has studied under the greats such as Martin Chalifour, the Concertmaster of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, as well as former member of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Jerry Epstein.

Marlyse is the violin coach and teacher at Aliso Niguel High School for the String Orchestra program, consisting of over 200 string students. She leads sectionals, as well as group, and individual private lessons.

Jane Carter
Cello Lessons


Jane Carter did her undergraduate work at the world renowned, Indiana University, earned a master's degree in music NAU and a teaching credential from the State of California thru Whittier College. She has 30+ years of public school music teaching band, orchestra and jazz ensemble, honor orchestra. Jane was honored with Teacher of the Year and Special Service awards while teaching at Masuda Middle School in Fountain Valley. She taught applied private music lessons at Northern Arizona University while earning her masters degree. Took two curses in Brass Band performance including private instruction in Wales and England. Currently she coaches music in south county schools and teaches privately at THE MUSIC STAND in Laguna Niguel. She is not only an expert at beginning and intermediate instruments, but is an accomplished singer and songwriter earning a place in the Grammy organization NARAS for having performed on three commercial albums.

Studied trumpet privately with Boyde Hoode, LA Philharmonic, Jimmy Stamp, studio and recording artist, Studied privately on flute, clarinet, oboe and bassoon with LuRuth Anderson, Whittier College and Violin and Cello with Jean Clower, Huntington Beach School for the Arts. Studied lyric song writing privately with KA Parker, professional writer working with CBS, Studied singing with Jonathan Mack, LA Opera Tenor, and Darlene Koldenhoven, Studio singer and commercial recording artist.

Performance experience includes Rio Hondo Symphony, Orange County Wind Symphony, Flagstaff Symphony, Flagstaff summer festival orchestra combining Phoenix and Glendale professional symphonies, Garden Grove Symphony, South Coast Symphony, Pacific Symphony, California Connection commercial entertainment band trumpet and vocals, 20+ years singing with William Hall Master Chorale/Orange County master Chorale. soloist and harmony with Tapestry eight voice mixed double quartet, OCC big band, Saddleback jazz combo, Golden State British Brass Band, Laguna Beach Band and Jazz set. Plus various professional free lance work in Orange, LA and inland empire counties.

Jane Carter taught middle school band and orchestra students for over 33 years.
