David Chavez
Violin Instructor

David Chavez began playing the violin at age four in Southern California.  David was a student at The R. D. Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles where he studied with Mr. Richard Schwabe.  Following High school, David studied Violin Performance at California State University of Long Beach where he received his Bachelors of Music.   At Long Beach David’s teachers included Phillip Levy and Dr. Chan Ho Yun.

David continued his studies as a graduate assistant at The Pennsylvania State University, graduating with a Masters of Music in violin performance.  Extending his stay at Penn State, David also completed a Professional Performance Certificate.  At Penn State, David studied with violin professor, Dr. Max Zorin.  During David’s time at Penn State, he was a member of the Graduate String Quartet, served as Concert Master and Principal second in the University Orchestra, and won first prize in the  2009/2010 Concerto competition.

David’s professional career has included performing in several orchestras as well as chamber groups, and rock bands.  David recorded a music video with Ill Divo at Paramount Studios and played live concerts with Kansas and Manheim Steam Roller. While in Pennsylvania, David participated annually in the Penns Woods Music Festival, was featured as a soloist in the Wild Flowers Music Festival, and also served as Assistant Concertmaster in a Concert Tour of China with the Camerata Philadelphia.  Currently, David is an active freelance musician and holds the Principle Second chair of the Dana Point Symphony.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, David has a love and passion for teaching violin. It is a privilege to share his experience and music education to promote and cultivate young talent, exposing them to the many benefits and joys of the world of music.


Victoria Nguyen
Violin and Viola Instructor                    

Victoria Nguyen has been playing piano since she was 4 years old and picked up both the violin and viola at age 10. She has been playing music all her life with a solid background in classical, pop, and liturgical music. Victoria graduated from Chapman University’s Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music with a BM in Piano Performance. Outside of the academia, she also writes and produces her own music and has experience playing in bands. 

As a music teacher, Victoria aims to foster a lifelong love for music and build the foundations for good musicianship that will apply to any style of music. She has successfully prepared many students for the National Guild of Piano Teachers auditions, Certificate of Merit testing, and even school talent shows. She is equipped and honored to guide students of all ages to reach their goals in their own musical endeavors.
